Commencing in 2006, Young Law is a resource and energy legal practice conducted by Doug Young

Doug has worked with resource and other clients for over 3 decades in delivering all (or parts) of major resource projects. This has entailed both agreed outcomes, and, where required, litigation, on occasion to the High Court.. 

Doug has also been active in voluntary service to the profession, in various ways.  This has included writing and presenting papers to industry bodies, such as APPEA and the Minerals Council of Australia, and at professional bodies, such as AMPLA, and lecturing at various universities, such as Melbourne University (Visiting Fellow 1996-2006), Monash, UQ etc.

His primary contribution however has been through the Business Law Section (BLS) of the Law Council of Australia, serving as chair or deputy chair of one or more of its expert committees from 1996 to 2015. He was also Chair of the Section from 2003 to 2006., and in 2015 was awarded an Honorary Life Membership for "extraordinary contribution" to the Section.
